SAINTS
CENTRAL

Saints Central is our flagship Saints Project. Born from the collective vision of Nuneaton Churches and Together for Change, the project launched in January 2020. The project recently celebrated 5 years of opening, and we are now looking towards the next 5 years, working in partnership with local churches to try to alleviate the effects of poverty in the town. Saints Central is a social enterprise, so income generated from the building is fed back into the various community projects and initiatives that we run.
THE PROJECT
The project occupies the former Conservative Club in Nuneaton town centre, a 4-storey abandoned heritage asset built in 1898, which is one of the most prominent buildings within the town. We are passionate about restoring and refurbishing this space back to its former glory to so it can once again be available for our local community. In 2020, Phase 1 transformed the ground floor into a vibrant training café with free children’s play, learning zone and enterprise zone.
Phase 2, completed in 2025, included the renovations of the upstairs former ballroom and some basement rooms of the building, paving the way to expand our range of activities and host community events that seek to Transform Nuneaton. We are now looking ahead to Phase 3, our final phase to complete the restoration of our historical building with the installation of a lift, heating in the upstairs hall and restoration to our Mezzanine.

ENTERPRISE AND EQUIP
Enterprise and Equip: we aim to tackle unemployment and lack of education by raising aspirations, providing opportunities for people to start their own business enterprise and equipping people with skills for life.
SAINTS
mission
The core mission for Saints Central is to tackle unemployment and lack of education, enhance physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, and to inspire and connect people through the creative arts. We aim to do this through a three-pronged approach:
SPORT AND SUPPORT
Sport and support: we aim to promote physical, emotional and mental wellbeing by offering sport activities and providing opportunities to access support.
CREATE AND CONNECT
Create and connect: we aim to encourage the arts and connecting as a community by supporting and promoting local creatives, providing space for creative activities and creating opportunities to connect with others through creativity.
The way we work towards and achieve these aims has changed and adapted over the years, as different needs have come to our attention from the community that we serve. Examples of projects we have run include offering hospitality work experience through the coffee shop, working with local agencies to offer a range of skills workshops and courses, holding family activities during the school holidays, helping people with access to essentials like food and warm clothing, working with young people to raise aspirations and supporting care leavers with skills for independent living.
